Backing up contacts on a BlackBerry to computer


How long since last time you you backed up your BlackBerry? Do you add new contacts information to SIM card since last backup? It's time to do something backup for your contacts on BlackBerry smartphone. Do't think it is a wast of time to back up contacts on BlackBerry. Ten minutes backup may save you whoile day to find them back. So you’ve been thinking for a while, perhaps it’s time to backup your BackBerry address book on your computer.



Program you can get to Backup BlackBerry contacts
1. Google Sync
Google sync can be available for free from Google website. Here is the link. http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/.
You need download the application to Mac or PC and install to BlackBerry. After installing the Google Sync BlackBerry Client. You are able to back up contacts for your BlackBerry.
Here is how you can start the program and backup contacts.
Contacts sync is turned off by default for people upgrading from a previous version. If you would like to sync your handheld's Address Book with Google Contacts, you may need to go to the Google Sync > Options screen and enable it.
Google Sync will back up BlackBerry contats to Gmail contacts under "My Contacts" group in your Google Contacts. To manage your Google Contacts, go to your Gmail account and click the Contacts link. You can export the Google account contacts to computer as .csv or .vcf file for importing to other smartphone or online email address book.

2. Blackberry Desktop manager
Blackberry Desktop manager can backup your BlackBerry contacts on computer. You can connect the BlackBerry to computer and start the software to backup the BlackBerry files onto computer and save them as .IPD file. This IPD file will contain your contacts and you can restore to BlackBerry when your mobile is crashed or lost contacts.
